Un-canny in films

We were shown films in lesson involving the uncanny. Such films like the original Ring 2 (Nakate, H, 1998). 

I think the Ring (original and american version) is a perfect way of showing un-canny elements.
In this clip from the film, the girl coming out of the TV set is not normal, its something that we wouldn't ever notify as being scary thats why it is so creepy. Also the Director/editor has made the girl stand up in backward emotion because it looks weird and un-familiar it is strange to us and our minds cannot process it.

Another film that uses elements of uncanny is the film 'Martyers' (2008, Laugier, P). This film is very brutal and disturbing. I thought the storyline was very inventive and different but there was a lot of elements that disturbed me because of the un-familiarity, such as, a screaming women (who is mostly covered up by shadows) crawling at fast speed on her hands. The editor has obviously sped the women up but the speed at which she is travelling is extremely scary and un-usual. I can relate this to the film, The Messengers (2007 Fat, P)

This scene we see something crawling on the ceiling making an awful unusual sound. The fact that its on the ceiling and moving about in an abnormal way scares the hell out of me. If I was to see that on my roof I wouldn't be sticking around.
